Gulkand recipe, How to prepare Gulkand at home

Have you ever eaten preserved rose petals which are also called gulkand in Hindi (India) and Urdu. Gulkand is also available in market but homemade gulkand is considered more beneficial because it is made of fresh and clean rose petals without any chemical input. Gukand has lots of benefits with no side effects if used properly. Here I am sharing a simple recipe of making gulkand at home in few days.

Ingredients:

Rose Petals (Red)                                         250 Gram
Sugar or Misri (candy Sugar)                        250 Gram
Cotton Cloth        
Air tight Jar

Recipe /Method:

Take fresh rose petals wash with water so the dirt removed. Dry these petals with cotton cloth and put a layer in jar then a layer of sugar again a layer of rose petals and a layer of sugar cover with led.
Put this jar under the sun daily from 10:00 am to  4:00 pm while putting in sunlight closed jar with cotton cloth only and in night tightly closed with led.
It will take 3 to 4 weeks in preparation of rose preserve the tasty Gulkand. Enjoy this cooling tonic in all summer season and avoid many health issues e.g. inflammation, redness in eyes ,itching, pitta, hyper acidity, constipation, piles, skin-itching,  nose bleed, muscle pain, dark eye circles, fatigue, acne and skin blemishes.



Note: use wooden spoon for stirring the mixture

Gulqand or Gulkand is made from preserving fresh rose petals and sugar or misiri by traditional ayurvedic method. In Urdu and Persian flowers are called gul while qand means sweet or sugary in Persian. Gulqand is also known as Gulkand in Hindi and Urdu and Gül Reçeli in Turkish. It is also considered as rose petals jam and can be eaten with milk and Ice cream.

·    It saves from sunstroke and reduces nostril-bleeding therefore considered one the best cooling agent and tonic. it also treats burning sensations in the soles and palms.
·    Gulqand helps in reducing eye inflammation, redness, acidity, aches, pain, itching, pitta, hyper acidity, nose bleed, constipation, piles, skin-itching, muscle pain, dark circles around the eyes, acne & blemishes, fatigue and many other heat related issues.
·         Gulkand not only reduces and heat in the body but also strengthens teeth & gums.
·         It has powerful antioxidant properties and an excellent rejuvenator.
·         Gulqand is used to treat dysmenorrhoea.
·    Eating gulkand helps in relieving bad menstrual cramps and pain. It is also curer excessive white discharge problem leucorrhea and heavy menstruation.
·         Gulkand improves digestive system and corrects digestive problems.
